Our partnerships and charitable and community initiatives are designed to improve the employability of young people and support schools as they undertake their important mission of creating enthusiastic, skilled, work-ready, superstars.

We’ve partnered with:

  • Children in Need

We helped contribute to the staggering £35m+ the charity raised in the 2022 appeal. We’ve also donned Christmas jumpers and competed in a step challenge, raising over £39,000 for the charity.

  • The Prince’s Trust

We held a ‘Brilliant Breakfast’ raising over £320 for the charity with more events planned. We use its volunteering portal so colleagues can give their time to The Prince’s Trust.

  • Bookmark Reading

Our donations and work with Bookmark helps children learn to read and improve their skills and confidence. During the last academic year, 88 children from four schools were supported via 117 reading sessions.

  • The University of

We’re providing three scholarships to students and supporting them through their education. We also host engagement events and careers talks for students.

  • Slough Business Community Partnership

Our colleagues support community causes in Slough/Langley, where our head office is based, including supporting school students. Our Executive team also volunteered to support elderly people in the area at the Recycled Teenagers Lunch Club.

  • The Greater Manchester Combined Authority (GMCA)

We host workplace experience days, matching IRIS volunteers to become enterprise advisors in schools, and supporting schools to shape how they work with employers.

Our colleagues support local communities and fundraise for charity though our Giving Back Days initiative

In 2022, 350 days were used for good causes and raised almost
£140,000 for charity through:

  • Supporting children

Colleagues train children’s football teams, assist on school trips, deliver school careers sessions and help disabled children learn to ride horses.

  • Medical

Many colleagues donate blood, volunteer at vaccination centres and hospices and write letters to cancer patients.

  • Environment

Colleagues litter pick and clean beaches as well as supporting conservation projects, gardening projects and giving their time to the National Trust.

  • Community

Railway tracks are restored, local groups are supported, festive shoeboxes are created, Santa suits are worn and Christmas lunches are made by our colleagues in their communities to give back and make a positive difference.

  • Around the world

Colleagues support foodbanks in the UK and internationally, create and deliver packages for homeless people and refugees, produce Improvised Trauma Kits to send to the people of Ukraine and make clothes for children around the world in need.

  • Fundraising

We’ve raised money via sponsored mountain climbs, head shaving, squats, golf, swimming, cycling, walking, running and skipping challenges, cake sales and coffee mornings, raffles, specific charity events like Wear it Pink and creating haunted attractions.
